Founded:
Warren Rupp was founded in 1965 by Warren E. Rupp and Charles
E. Young, Jr., in Mansfield, Ohio
Founding Goal:
To fill exceptional pumps needs, abrasive and viscous substances
in particular.
Current Position:
Warren Rupp holds a leading position in the air-operated, diaphragm
pump market with the broadest range of pump sizes, types and
models. Marketed primarily under the tradename of SandPIPER®
Pumps.
Markets Served:
Principal markets served by Warren Rupp include chemicals, paints,
food processing, electronics, construction, industrial maintenance,
utilities, process industries, wastewater and sludge processing,
and mining.
Distribution:
Warren Rupp products are sold worldwide through a network of
independent, factory-authorized distributors. Product is marketed
in over 60 countries, in nearly every major trading area. Sales
to international customers account for a substantial portion
of Warren Rupp's revenues.
Product Profile:
Warren Rupp pumps are manufactured in aluminum, cast iron, stainless
steel, Hastelloy, polypropylene, PVDF, Nylon and Conductive Acetal.
Self-priming and Seal less, they are ideal for pumping abrasive,
semisolid, corrosive and shear sensitive materials. They are
also chosen for applications where electricity is not available,
or cannot be used due to safety conditions. Diaphragm pumps provide
pollution-free and energy-efficient operation, with fewer moving
parts than conventional motor-driven pumps.
Competition:
More and more competitors are entering the diaphragm pump business.
The product, which in past years was the pump of the last resort,
is becoming widely accepted in plants as the first choice in
many cases.
Competitive Advantages:
A SINGLE, no-stall air drive system (ESADS®) on all models
provides GUARANTEED no-stalling performance, eliminating the
need to choose among technologies for different operating conditions.
The INNOVATION of Warren Rupp
provided the first BOLTED AODD pump design (35 years ago) that
continues to provide service life in excess of service intensive
V-band designs.
New innovations include "RuppGUARD™
Spill Prevention" models from Warren Rupp. These AODD pumps
are comprised of a primary and secondary pumping diaphragm for
each chamber separated by an inert, compatible fluid barrier.
Buyer motivations include:
- For hazardous fluids (example:
hydrochloric acid) a pump diaphragm failure does not stop the
pump from finishing batch transfer, and provides protection of
the environment by preventing fluid from entering and being exhausted
through the air exhaust.
- Maintenance costs are significantly
reduced for many fluids because in the event of a diaphragm failure,
the air drive system is not contaminated or in need of extensive
cleaning or replacement.
- Air is prevented from entering
the fluid being pumped, so critical applications (example: ceramic
slip) where air mixed with the transfer fluid would degrade the
final product can be performed reliably even in the event of
diaphragm failure.
- In short, the RuppGUARD™
Spill Prevention models offer benefits unequaled by the competition
that provide the least risk and best value for critical process
applications.
Warren Rupp also enjoys many
intangible advantages. The company is known to stand behind the
product with a generous 5 year warranty policy, money-back guarantees,
and factory-based training, education and troubleshooting. The
Technical Services and Engineering Departments are available
to all users and distributors. The company's distributors are
known as highly professional companies around the world.
